Any time one of those “15 Shoes Nike Needs to Retro” lists crops up — so, basically four times a day — it’s a sure bet that the Nike Zoom Spiridon will be included. Originally launched in 1997, and briefly seen again in 2005, the Zoom Spiridon quickly gained a following among runners and sneakerheads alike thanks to a sleek design and insanely comfortable doubled-stacked Zoom Air units. Well, Nike hears you.
Yep, 2016 will see a Nike Zoom Spiridon retro, although that’s just about all the information we have at the moment. One notable point: The shoe will officially be called the Nike Zoom Spiridon 16, possibly portending some (hopefully very, very minor) changes. That year designation immediately calls to mind the Free OG 14, the first-ever Free model that was revived two years ago and underwent some minor under-the-hood updates. Simply put, the closer the Nike Zoom Spiridon 16 is to the original Zoom Spiridon, the better.
Stay tuned for firm release info — should be around the summer — and also note that the above and below pictures are not of the Nike Zoom Spiridon retro. Spiridon 16 photos haven’t yet surfaced.
