Nike’s quest to make a lighter, more flexible and breathable uniforms often manifests on football fields and basketball courts the nation over. This week it’s coming to the baseball diamond
The University of Oregon, University of North Carolina and Vanderbilt University teams will debut the new Nike Vapor Elite Baseball Uniform, the most innovative baseball uniform ever created by the brand. Comprised of a stretch woven fabric and streamlined with targeted articulation — offering maximum movement — the Vapor Elite Pants are 20% lighter than the traditional knit construction. Ventilation in the back of the knee keeps thermo-regulation at the forefront meanwhile, and forward-facing seams on the sides eliminate drag while sliding.
Likewise, the Vapor Elite Jersey drops weight by utilizing a stretch woven fabric that’s tailored for maximum mobility and minimum bulk and weight. The sides are entirely seamless, and the full-mesh back panel and mesh gussets under the arm radically enhance breathability.
The future of Nike Baseball, the Nike Vapor Elite Baseball Uniform will see its on-diamond debut on Friday, February 19, as the Tar Heels, Ducks and Commodores get the 2016 season underway.
