It almost seems odd that the Air Presto, being the king of casual comfort, has laces. Sure, it first gained life as a running shoe, but today, where it’s legacy is largely rooted in lifestyle-wear, how much more fitting would a slip-on edition be? Well, we’re about to find out.
The latest development in the ongoing evolution of the Presto is a … Nike Air Presto Slip? Air Presto Strap? Whatever it is, it’s plenty intriguing. The intrepid spirit and much of the singular aesthetic of the shoe is entirely retained, down to the minimalist upper and cushy sole, but for one prominent upgrade: a big elastic cross strap secures the forefoot, entirely replacing the usual lacing system.
Other than that, and besides some small tweaks, this is largely the old favorite. So what’s your first impression: Is the Nike Air Presto Slip a worthy successor?
