The Air Huarache, that revered masterpiece of truly singular running design, is the latest to get a contemporary update from the Swoosh. Sleek and streamlined, the Nike Air Huarache Run Ultra launches later this year.
The reimagined classic retains the overall silhouette of the traditional Huarache, the famous rubber heel-counter and signature midsole design, but the upper is completely overhauled. Rather than the usual neoprene inner-sleeve and leather exoskeleton, both pieces have been fused into a single component using no-sew construction, resulting in a slimmer, lighter build that’s aesthetically cutting edge, yet inescapably familiar.
The midsole appears unchanged, though it’s not a stretch to imagine it likely has the lighter foam construction typical of Ultra runners.
There’s no Nike Air Huarache Run Ultra release date on the books yet, so stay tuned to NB for updates, and check out a full shot below.
