Friday we introduced the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout, the first signature model of superstar outfielder Mike Trout and just the second signature cleat in Nike Baseball history. Today we unveil the on-field apparel collection of which the Vapor Trout is a hallmark piece, a series predicated on increasing speed as much as possible in order to shrink the field — the Nike Baseball Vapor Collection.
The new line is a head-to-toe system, most of which can be worn in tandem with a player’s daily uniform. The Nike Pro Combat Hyperstrong Slider Tight is a 3/4-length compression pant with zoned mesh for breathability and silver “sliding panels” to reduce friction on each slide. Detech foam meanwhile covers the knee for light, flexible protection.
Below that, the Nike Vapor Elite Baseball Crew sock delivers ankle cushioning that fits seamlessly with baseball spikes, while the Dri-FIT fabric offers zoned cushioning and dynamic arch support.
Shifting back up to the torso, the Nike Pro Combat Hyperwarm Player’s Sleeve sports a seamless knit design for comfort and thermal compression over the elbow, bicep and tricep. That’s paired with the Nike Vapor Elite Pro Batting Glove, which boasts a one-piece textured leather palm for superlative feel and connection to the bat, and mesh back for reduced weight and freedom of movement.
Finally, the Nike True Vapor Fitted Cap tops off the line, with signature Vapor Bill construction for improved moisture management and reduced pressure against the forehead.
The Nike Baseball Vapor Collection releases this summer at Nike Baseball retailers, bringing to the diamond a level of speed heretofore only imagined.
