Michigan State Hoops Uniforms Throwback to 1979

Michigan State Throwback Uniforms

When Michigan State faced off again Kansas Tuesday night in their second game of the season, the Spartans took the court looking as good as they have in . . . well, about 37 years.

Commemorating the program’s Magic Johnson-led national championship nearly four decades ago, the Spartans rocked throwback uniforms that perfectly mimicked their 1979 look. The crisp, clean white set featured contrast green piping, a belt-like green waistband and oversized Spartan logo on either leg. Most importantly, the jersey was emblazoned with cursive “STATE” script, an homage to MSU’s most iconic look.

Get a closer look at the stunning Michigan State throwback uniforms below, along with the MSU edition LeBron 13 and KD 8 the team is wearing this season. And here’s hoping this isn’t the last we see of these throwbacks. . . .
