For the first time in history, Jordan Brand’s Jumpman logo will grace a soccer cleat. And who better to partner on that historical feat (and feet) than Brazilian superstar Neymar, a man with the ball skills and on-court flair befitting Michael Jordan’s legacy.
And it’s Neymar’s go-to boot that acts as canvas for Jordan Brand’s foray onto the pitch: the Hypervenom Phantom II. As it happens, the cleat features a distinctive forefoot design that bears a striking resemblance to the “teeth” on the Air Jordan 5 Low, the hoops portion of the Jordan x Neymar team-up, thus bringing full circle the design process.
Boasting AJ5-informed visuals, the Jordan x Nike Hypervenom Neymar sports a black upper touched with a reflective silver Swoosh and waves, while red accents beautifully reconcile the aesthetic with so many classic black-and-red Jordans. On the left heel, Neymar’s number 10 appears, opposite MJ’s 23 on the right heel, while both men’s co-branding appears on the insole.
Neymar himself will wear the Jordan x Nike Hypervenom Neymar this August when suiting up for Brazil. In the meantime, the shoe is now available on the Nike Football App. It’ll hit Nike.com June 3.
