In commemoration of the Art in the Street exhibit, which documents graffiti and street art, currently underway at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles, designer Geoff McFetridge collaborated with Nike SB on this extremely limited (and probably not super-durable) new shoe, which blurs the line between footwear and art. The Geoff McFetridge x Nike SB Paper Dunk High actually sports an upper comprised of paper, covered in a unique print that that varies a bit on each of the 24 shoes that were produced. Nike SB also put together some special edition t-shirts to accompany the shoes, designed by such industry bigshots as Neckface, Futura, Lance Mountain and CR Steyck III.
The shoes will be displayed at the MOCA on-site retail space until May 26th, when they’ll be auctioned off (sizes 9, 10 and 11 only) at 1pm, with the bidding starting at $100 each. In June, another round of products will appear at MOCA, including a Nike SB Blazer designed by Lance Mountain and t-shirts by Geoff McFetridge, CR Stecyk III, Aaron Reimer and Gusmano Cesaretti. All proceeds from both sales will go to benefit MOCA.
