We shared the Nike Snowboarding Zoom Kaiju boot with you earlier, a special look created for Nicolas Müller, and, after seeing how bizarre, surreal, but absolutely remarkable the accompanying ad is, I have no choice but to share that as well. Hit the jump to see the video that documents the strange world that Nicolas Müller inhabits, but only if you want to see chickens laying boots, owls riding shoulders and people in ape masks harassing Müller mid-run.

Well it premiered a week ago, but the “Nike Chosen” full-length ad/film is finally widely available (ie embeddable), so hit the jump to give a watch. It’s an abosolutely amazing showcase of some of Nike’s athletes from less-mainstream sports, including surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and the like. Oh, and it’s all done in the dark, lit with floodlights; surfing included (in the damn ocean!).

More from the “Nike Chosen” campaign, which moves to associate some less traditional sports—BMX, skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, to name a few—with Nike’s classic “Just Do It” slogan. And of course, this all takes place in the dark. Hit the jump for the extended remix, which brings to light (so to speak) some more footage, set to music.

Nike Snowboarding has just put together some really rad snowboarding boots (and this coming from a guy who doesn’t make a habit of snowboarding), including some updated colorways of the Zoom Force 1 boot—the Air Force 1-inspired snowboarding boot that Danny Kass made a really funky version of and Pharrell saw fit to wear as standard footwear—a few pairs of the newish Danny Kass Pro and a couple of colors of the Kaiju boot. Check out images of all after the jump. These are said to be a part of the 2011 Nike Snowboarding collection, so it may be a few months before you can get your hands on them. Pharrell was spotted at the NRJ Music Awards the other day, dressed largely like a lumberjack—plaid button-up, puffy vest and mustache included—and for some reason saw fit to wear the Nike Zoom Force 1 DK-YS. Yeah, that’s Danny Kass’s snowboarding boot. Maybe next time he’ll show up wearing some Jordan Brand Derek Jeter cleats. Close up after the jump.Photo from DayLife.com

Pharrell in Danny Kass Snowboard Boot

OK, I know nothing about snowboarding. But the impression I have is that color/design-wise, conservative is the norm, so these seem pretty unique. This is the Nike Zoom Force 1 DK-YS and it’s accompanying apparel. The design is inspired by 70′s era music according to Kass. Oh, and Danny Kass is apparently an Olympic silver medalist and several-time gold medal winner at the US Open. And he has some medals from the X-Games too. You’re just as capable of typing his name into Wikipedia as I, so I’ll just leave it at that. The video is like a music video of someone (probably Kass, I suppose) riding a snowboard through an animated land.

Oh, and Nike and Kass are really pushing that this boot is “double-tongued.” So if you’re a snowboarder and you’ve been looking for a boot that’s double-tongued … enjoy. Media from Nike.com

I’m planning on getting into snowboarding more this winter, so this was a nice little discovery for me. Nike’s new boot for 2009, which is I THINK being released in December, looks like a comfy moon shoe. You can see the clear modeling after the AF1s, which are always classic. There’s also a few different color ways. I saw an orange on gray, a gold on snake skin, and I’m sure they’ll have a bunch more in the coming months.

Psyched about the new boot and will definitely give it a whirl. Expect a thorough review.
