In 2012, Livestrong celebrates 15 years of helping to spread optimism and hope while raising money to fight cancer (over $100 million to date, in fact). Writing inspirational messages in chalk is something of a tradition at the Tour de France, meant to encourage riders while leaving one’s mark upon the race. Taking that a step further, Nike and Livestrong collected thousands of messages of encouragement and hope and used the Chalkbot to quickly, and with great detail, print them on the roads. Messages were meant to spur on cyclists, as well as to commemorate those who have fallen to cancer and encourage survivors. Before Jon Lester was beating Yankees on the regular, he was publicly beating cancer. So while he steps onto the mound to do the former tonight, he’ll honor so many others attempting to do the latter by lacing up the Livestrong x Nike Air Diamond Elite–Jon Lester PE. The shoe sports the recognizable yellow and black of Livestrong, while also throwing Lester’s “31″ on the heel. The immediately-recognizable black and yellow of Livestrong have claimed another Nike silhouette, and as usual it immediately becomes one of the model’s best colorways to date. The Nike Free Xilla, known for its ridiculous comfort thanks to the combination of Free Tech and Cushlon in the midsole, dons a black upper, contrasted by yellow on the midsole and inner-lining and just enough white to tie the two tones together. One of the most well-known cancer non-profits, the Lance Armstrong Foundation (you know, the “Livestrong” guys), is collaborating on a running shoe colorway once again. The Livestrong x Nike LunarGlide+ 3 features dark grey and black covering the synthetic and mesh upper, with Livestrong yellow on the midsole, Swoosh, and midfoot lace-holder. There are plenty of reasons to hope Lance Armstrong makes it through this whole “did he juice?” fiasco unscathed, not least of all being that his accomplishments are inspirational to many people battling cancer. But on a more minor scale, I don’t particularly want to see this Nike Air Max+ 2012–Livestrong edition comprised. With the black and grey upper and yellow accenting, the good looks of this shoe necessitate it actually releasing. The shoe sports “LIVESTRONG” across the tongue as well as the charitable group’s signature black and varsity maize colors, with funds going to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s fight against cancer. If you loved the Livestrong x Nike Blazer Mid Supreme that released in Europe in July but you happen to live in the States, joyous news abounds. Today brings us news of a US release date for the shoe, as well as a detailed preview of the shoe. The shoe, as you’ll recall, sports an almost entirely black leather look, with just a bit of Livestrong-yellow bordering the Swoosh and a multi-color lace-loop on the tongue. The Livestrong x Nike Blazer Mid Supreme release date is set for Saturday, October 2nd.

Accompanying Lance Armstrong’s participation in the current Tour de France, Wieden+Kennedy and Nike have put together a very cool new ad featuring Lance Armstrong and his internal “engine” while racing.

Available in limited quantities, the Nike Dunk Hi Livestrong TZ release date is set for July 3rd, and the shoe is yet another fantastic combination of Livestrong styling on a classic silhouette. Nearly the entire upper is covered in premium black leather, with a multi-colored panel on the back and Livestrong-yellow outlining the Swooshes and appearing on the accents and outsole.
