As the weather starts to cool off in the fall, Nike tends to find new ways to adapt classic models to the colder months. (Case in point, the Jordan Winterized collection.) This year it comes by way of the Nike 6.0 Dunk High Premium “Sherpa,” basically a fur-lined Dunk, now available at retailers nationwide. The shoe takes a classic black leather Dunk High, and adds fur to the inner-lining for an aptly nicknamed Sherpa effect. Nike 6.0 has done a remarkable job of assembling great talent, especially in women’s surfing. And with a few of those surfers being big parts of the Nike 6.0 Summer 2011 Collection lookbook, why not learn a little more. Below the cut, check out the video of 16-year-old phenom Lakey Peterson, both surfing and modeling some of Nike 6.0′s summer and fall looks. Lakey is currently ranked 7th in the world in the ASP women’s rankings.

Two new colorways have hit of the Nike 6.0 Dunk SE High, the reworked Dunk that puts an emphasis on performance for the 6.0 crowd. Each sport black leather, contrasted by red suede on one and complemented by grey suede on the other. Meanwhile the classic rubber sole simplifies the look, as well as offering increased board feel and grip for skaters. At this point I don’t know if there’s a branch of Nike that doesn’t have’t it’s own Dunk. I mean, Nike Golf? What’s next, Nike Soccer? But as long as they look as good as this Nike 6.0 Dunk SE High Black/White-Dark Grey, which features a mix of black leather and grey suede on the upper, atop a vulc rubber sole unit, I don’t think there will be any complaints. We got a limited preview of some updated Nike Killshot the other day, and now we have a bit more information on the shoe. Despite what we previously thought, the shoe won’t be under the SB umbrella, but rather Nike 6.0. It is in fact an updated Killshot—featuring a reworked upper and Zoom Air through the midsole—and will be titled the Nike 6.0 Zoom LeShot LR. Release date is scheduled for next spring at the moment, but we’ll let you know if there are any changes. Hit the jump for more looks.

Much of the spotlight on Nike 6.0 right now comes from their athletes in Nike’s “The Chosen” short film, but being overlooked is that over the last year or so, they’ve really ramped up their apparel and shoe lines, coming out with near constant hits in both categories. Today, take a look at the remarkable new Nike 6.0 Low Birch/Gum Medium Brown, which mixes an understated silhouette with a clean beige suede upper and gum brown sole unit. The shoe, which retails for a pretty impressive $70, is now available at nikestore.com and Nike 6.0 retailers nationwide.

I’ve been raving about the sports-in-the-dark concept of Nike’s new “The Chosen” film for a while now—it’s seriously some of the most unique blending of sports and media in quite some time. And most impressive of all the sports in the film has to be the surfing in Bali, not just because it’s surfing in the dark, incredible as that is, but surfing in the ocean in the dark, rather than a wave pool. So while Nike has been releasing some behind-the-scenes videos of “The Chosen,” this one, which focuses on surfing, is definitely the best. Plus, you know … Laura Enever and Monyca Byrne-Wickey.

Nike 6.0 is reworking the Dunk High in time for the Spring 2012 collection, mixing smooth, nearly-suede leather with a vulcanized rubber sole unit to give it a simple, classic look. Of course it’s a Dunk, so it’s already pretty timeless in its appearance. Anyway, look for these in early 2012, first hitting stores in three colorways: black/red, grey/white and navy/white.

Portland residents who get down on the sports of Nike 6.0, get stoked for Thursday. That’s when the Nike West Coast Mobile Tour hits town, posting up at the US Outdoor Store on SW Broadway and Ankeny from 4pm until 9pm. Included at the event will be a barbecue, athlete signings and free giveaways, so make it happen. (The poster is obviously mis-dated, but I’m fairly certain it’s Thursday.)

More from the “Nike Chosen” campaign, which moves to associate some less traditional sports—BMX, skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, to name a few—with Nike’s classic “Just Do It” slogan. And of course, this all takes place in the dark. Hit the jump for the extended remix, which brings to light (so to speak) some more footage, set to music.

Nike 6.0 has really been quietly putting together some really cool events and executing great ideas lately, evidenced by the recent “Leave a Message” film documenting the women of Nike 6.0 Surf, and now the latest installment of “The Pool,” a massive undertaking that saw a classic community center and swimming pool turned into a BMX facility and event. The Nike 6.0 film “Leave a Message,” documenting the lives and performances of the six main women of Nike 6.0 Surf, is now premiering on the Nike 6.0 Facebook page. The film is a great look at the skills and personalities of Monyca Byrne-Wickey, Lakey Peterson, Carissa Moore, Coco Ho, Laura Enever and Malia Manuel, following them in the water and on land a bit and just showcasing some of the sport’s newer faces. Most importantly though, it shows them do some things on a surfboard I have a hard time even dreaming of doing myself, and clearly really enjoying themselves, on the boards and off. And I’m not sure how to put this tactfully, but fellas … watch the film. Check out a trailer below the cut. It’s not the full film however, as the Nike 6.0 Surf Facebook page is the only spot to watch that for the next day.

Nike 6.0 has collected a pretty remarkable group of talent in terms of surfers, so the logical next step (apparently) is to create a pretty impressive commercial, on a rather grand scale. The made-for-web spot will feature elite surf talent like Kolohe Andino, Monyca Byrne-Wickey, Julian Wilson and Laura Enever, to name a few. Not a ton of information is available about the new campaign yet, but it seems that it will center around night-surfing. Great preview of the spot below the cut.
