At the risk of this site becoming a 2012 NBA All-Star theme blog, here’s yet another look at the Nike Zoom Kobe VII All-Star edition, release date expected in mid-to-late February. As you’re surely aware by now (earlier previews here, here and here), the shoe sports a cosmic-inspired upper featuring a multi-colored, star-adorned exterior, offset by black on the midsole and tongue. Having just unveiled the Nike Dunk High All-Star 2012 pack, now seems like a perfect time to share yet another look at the similarly inspired yet wildly different Nike Zoom Kobe VII All-Star, release date expected in mid-to-late February. Unlike the very terrestrial set of Dunk Highs, the All-Star edition ZK7 is entirely cosmic, featuring a space-and-stars mural printed over the shoe’s exterior and removable midsole. The #KobeSystem had a big weekend, with two new installments over the last couple of days: the Kanye West-starring, expletive-laden ‘Beastion’ episode, and this latest #KobeSystem Level 7, ‘Success at Success.’ Here, world famous billionaire Richard Branson wonders how to achieve success at success … at success. Thankfully, Kobe knows.

Catching up on the weekend’s #KobeSystem action, here’s #KobeSystem Level 6, ‘Beastion.’ In it, Kanye West tries to truly wrap his head around Kobe Bryant’s vision for personal growth. It can be pretty difficult for some to wrap their heads around, Mr. West included.

Today’s #KobeSystem Level 5 lesson taught you how to dominate things like waffles, retirement, breakfast and iambic pentameter. But there are basketball concepts to be dominated as well, such as the pump-fake. As happens sometimes, Nike will apply an underlying theme to several different models during the 2012 NBA All-Star Game (something we’ve seen in the past with a ‘woodgrain’ theme). And this year, that theme is the galaxy. Or Big Bang. Or whatever you want to call it, but the point is that a lot of shoes, the LeBron 9 All-Star for example, will feature a space-themed look with myriad colors and stars and whatnot. And today we get another look at the Nike Zoom Kobe VII All-Star, which sports just such a look. While Level 3 talked adaptation, and Level 4 covered explosion, #KobeSystem Level 5, arguably the most informative segment to date, educates us on domination, with Kobe giving an entire list of things you must dominate (that list includes waffles, the sun, ninjas and breakfast). The Predator Pack Kobes continue to wow, with the Great White Shark and Leopard editions already looking rather impressive, and another look today at the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Wolf, release date set for March 1st. Featuring a look inspired by the predatory canine, the shoe fittingly sports a wolf grey upper contrasted by black along the midsole and heel and yellow on the Swoosh. We continue moving through the #KobeSystem today as we land on #KobeSystem Level 4, “Explosion.” In this video, while Kobe attempts to convey the concept of Explosion to the gathered crowd of superstars, motivational speaker Tony Robbins volunteers to help elaborate. Nice of him, but all it accomplishes is costing Kanye West $2 million. It’s enough to make you long for the days of Level 3 and Wang Leehom’s humbleness.

Wang Leehom is on the #KobeSystem. So are Sir Richard Branson and Aziz Ansari, to say nothing of Kanye West, Serena Williams, et al. And now, it seems, so is Los Angeles’s Westchester High School, as this season they debuted the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Westchester, both home and away editions.
