We’re still lacking official confirmation, but the prevailing rumor is growing stronger and stronger: the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam will reportedly release in December 2016.
The timing makes sense, of course. An Air Jordan 11 graces shelves every December — merry Christmas to us — and 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Space Jam, the motion picture that starred Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny, alongside a plethora of other NBA stars and animated icons. While we hadn’t yet confirmed an Air Jordan 11 Space Jam 2016 release — we still haven’t confirmed it, I suppose — it always seemed like a no-brainer.
One interesting point, by way of Twitter. Designer and footwear insider Brett Goliff claimed that while the Space Jam XI is going down, it “won’t be identical to the original.” I’d suggest the Jumpman with a stretched-out arm, but that might make it look sort of (read: really, really, really) fake. Things that make you go hmmmm.
It should go without saying that the images above and below are a past retro and don’t represent the 2016 release. But I’m saying it.Updates and release information as they develop. . . .
Just so everyone knows, the Space Jam XI that is releasing in December won’t be identical to the original.
