The Air Jordan 12 is undergoing a renaissance of sorts, with a slew of releases — new colorways and classic revivals alike — hitting shelves throughout 2016. The wool pair that’s still on the horizon has looked like the most distinctive style in the works, but the just-leaked Air Jordan 12 Royal Blue is certainly in the running for that honor.

The brand new colorway keeps it technically simple if visually striking. Monochromatic blue suede stretches over the upper, with a tonal scaly leather forefoot and — you guessed it! — matching sole and inner-lining. Even the oft-metallic eyelets sport solid blue, promising the bold colors and cool materials are the star of the show.

No word yet on an Air Jordan 12 Royal Blue release date — or even word that it’s definitely happening, for that matter — so stay tuned to Nikeblog for updates. Below, take a look at an almost-finished pair.
