Just about every four years — during Summer Olympics years, more specifically — the Air Jordan 7 Olympic, one of the model’s most beloved colorways of all-time, returns to stores. Early reports indicated it would return again in 2016, just in time for the Rio Games, but today we can decisively say that’s not the case. Or, at the least, another Olympic-inspired colorway will launch.
The Air Jordan 7 Tinker Alternate sports essentially the same palette as the OG Olympic VII — hence folks who read buyer sheets thinking the latter would release — but rearranges the colors for a bold new look. Here, white leather covers the upper, but inlaid navy panels offer more striking contrast than on the mostly-white classic edition, while red, gold and blue accents round out the patriotic look in style.
The Air Jordan 7 Tinker Alternate release date is expected for August 16. How does the shoe measure up to the OG Olympic VII?
