The Netherlands national football team unveiled its new kits for 2016 and beyond today, coupling Nike’s light, innovative new Aeroswift technology with the country’s classic orange and blue, representing Dutch bravery, leadership and loyalty.
For home matches, the 2016 Netherlands kits feature the traditional orange shirt, embellished with Nassau blue on the collar, crest and stripes that run down from the underarm. The iconic Dutch crest appears on the left-chest, and patriotic odes are printed on the interior and exterior of the jersey; “NEDERLAND” is emblazoned on the outside of the back-collar, team nicknames “Oranje” and “Leeuwen” feature inside each cuff, and an oversized KNVB badge celebrating the team’s 1889 founding appears inside the body. Orange shorts round out the look, completing a largely monochromatic uniform.
The away Netherlands kits are the colorful counterpoint to the home set meanwhile. Nassau blue covers the shirt’s body, with a two-tone effect added by a lighter blue along the sleeves and shoulders. Details here are tonal, keeping the commitment on blue, down to the Nassau blue shorts.
The new Netherlands kits will be worn by the national team throughout 2016 and beyond. The home kit is available at select global retailers beginning March 24. Check out the rest of the recently unveiled national team looks here.
