On October 18, the Green Bay Packers will take the field in a new throwback uniform that emulates the look of the late-30s and ’40s teams. On July 28 — hey, that’s today! — we get our first look at the new Packers throwback uniforms.
Essentially a more modernized take on the team’s 1994 throwback, the jersey is executed in navy blue with gold shoulders and sleeves, a break from the team’s current primary green but a historically accurate nod to its former look.
That jersey will be paired with the team’s usual gold helmet up top, sans logo — curse the NFL and their same-helmet-for-every-game rule — while blue socks and metallic gold pants round out the nod to yesteryear.
Take a closer look at the new Packers throwback uniforms below — best look to date, truly — and stay tuned for developments as October approaches. The jersey ought to be for sale in the coming days.
