Following years of dominance in Nike shoes, LaMarcus Aldridge is making a change in his footwear, albeit within the same overarching company. The Blazers power forward has officially signed on to endorse Swoosh subsidiary Jordan Brand, as first reported by Trail Blazers digital reporter Casey Holdahl.
Aldridge, whose Nike deal expired in September, has worn Nikes or Jordans in some manner for over a decade, extending back to his career at the University of Texas. On Friday night, he wore the Air Jordan 13 in an exhibition game against Maccabi Haifa, two weeks after lacing up the Air Jordan 10 at the Portland Trail Blazers Fan Fest 2014.
Aldridge now joins a Jordan Brand roster that has been busy collecting some of the league’s elite talent. Other Jumpman-wearing NBA stars include Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook and rookie Jabari Parker.
I can now report that LaMarcus @aldridge_12 has signed with Jordan. Was previously with Nike.
