Paul Rodriguez’s signature line continues to reimagine the way skate shoes are built, appropriating Nike Running technology in order to create the most advanced shoes within the segment. It was done with the P-Rod 7, and it will happen again, albeit in a significant visual departure from the 7, on the upcoming Nike SB P-Rod 8. (Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 8 officially, presumably.)
Looking much like a beefed-up running shoe, the P-Rod 8 features a mesh construction that transitions to a more solid material through the toe, which is overlaid with lightweight yet durable Hyperfuse. Flywire offers reinforcement and stability without adding weight, while, below, a full-length Lunarlon midsole delivers plush, responsive cushioning.
Details are still developing, but you can probably expect to see the P-Rod 8 on shelves in late-2014, with retail rumored for $130. Slight changes to the design could come between now and then of course, so stay tuned for updates.
