Yesterday, we brought you a look at four colorways of the Nike Air Raid Retro that appears poised for a 2014 launch, its most recent appearance following a 5-year hiatus. Also yesterday, we hinted a Nike Air Raid update of sorts, though the name is still unknown. And here it is. A . . . a Nike Lunar Raid, perhaps?
It certainly appears to integrate a Lunarlon midsole, but then so does the similarly-soled Air Penny V which is entirely Lunar-free. In addition to a ridged, double-stacked midsole, implying the aforementioned Lunar tech, the upper sports an updated construction with inset netting on the tongue and side-panel in lieu of the original Air Raid’s nylon mesh.
Further, the shoe incorporates an inner-bootie build, as well, and an entirely revamped, more traditional outsole, differentiating it from the outdoor-only sole of the Air Raid.
