After this weekend’s retro of Shelby Lee’s Nike Free Run 2 Doernbecher, originally launched in 2010, only one more Doernbecher bringback remains, and we’ve got the details. Lance Dillon’s Nike Dunk Low Doernbecher releases August 31, the final retro in the 10th-anniversary-celebrating retro series.
Lance participated in the Doernbecher Freestyle program back in 2007 while undergoing chemotheraphy for leukemia. Using the shoe as an outlet for his positive thinking, Lance laser-engraved the black-and-olive leather upper with motivational words like “fight,” “warrior” and “power.” Additionally, the names of Lance’s family members adorn the shoe, as well as the number of days Lance has gone through chemo.
While Lance is now living a happy and healthy life, leukemia-free, proceeds from the sales of the Nike Dunk Low Doernbecher will benefit Doernbecher and their myriad other patients.
Retailing for $85 come August 31, the shoe will be available on Nike.com as well as at the following retailers: NIKETOWN New York, Nike Georgetown, Nike Chicago, Nike Roosevelt Field, Nike Portland, Nike San Francisco, Nike Dallas, NIKETOWN Los Angeles, Nike Lenox and Nike Las Vegas.
