Customs are always a bit of a crapshoot. Largely because many of them are terrible, but also because there’s an inherent risk of pushback when you mess with people’s favorite models. All the more so when it’s a model as iconic as the AJ11, and still more so when the custom involves something as out-there as going half-pink.
And yet, if approached with an open mind, it’s hard to find anything wrong with the Air Jordan 11 Low Breast Cancer Awareness custom.
The black midsole sports relatively bright pink speckling but it’s not overdone, as the mudguard’s shade is much duller; simultaneously eye-catching yet subdued, perfectly contrasting the Cordura upper. And then there’s that translucent outsole, deftly tying everything together.
And best of all, customizer PKZUNIGA had a great inspiration to work with: the shoe was designed for a breast cancer survivor.
No release is expected of course — it’s a custom pair — so reach out to Zuniga if you’d like to commission your own.
