The 2013-14 season will see the debut of new PSV Eindhoven kits, a significant aesthetic departure inspired by the uniforms of some of the most successful teams in club history, as well as a tribute to PSV’s 100th anniversary. Today, the home set.
Eshchewing the familiar striped jerseys the club has worn recently, the new PSV Eindhoven home shirt is solid red, mimicking the look of the 1978 team, which won the UEFA Cup, as well as the 1987-88 squad that won the Dutch league, Dutch Cup and, for the only time in club history, the Europa Cup 1. A white polo-style collar and neck contrast, as do the gold-bounded white cuffs.
To celebrate the club’s centennial, 100 has been added just below the crest, surrounded by a golden laurel, while the back of the shirt features 1913 in gold, the year the club was founded.
Further contrasting the predominantly red shirt are the shorts, which are white with red striping along each side, and the socks, which go white with red banding on the top and red blocking on the back.
