The Nike Kobe 8 Elite+ release date is set for next (not this) weekend, one-third of the Plus-enabled version of the Nike Basketball Elite Series 2.0 that premieres in white/black-gold 4/20. (Well, just black/gold in this case.)
The shoe utilizes black over the entire Engineered Mesh upper, with tonal carbon fiber stabilizing the heel and Dynamic Flywire locking down the forefoot, while a gold Swoosh and heel-logo offers some contrast.
In addition to the aforementioned carbon fiber piecing, other Elite upgrades include Kevlar aramid reinforcement for enhanced strength and stability without added bulk or weight, and an articulated foam tongue for maximal impact protection. And of course the shoe sports Nike+ compatibility, for a slew of interactive and measurable functions. Grab them April 20, retailing for $220.
