To celebrate the BCS National Championship Game, Nike has put together a new Alabama uniform, though it falls more under the category of “significant tech/performance upgrades” than “aesthetic departure.”
The new uniform, white of course, as the Crimson Tide are the “visiting” team, integrates cutting edge Nike Chain Maille Mesh, a light, breathable material that emphasizes thermoregulation. The mesh is added to areas where breathability is especially key, namely across the back and under the arms.
Beneath the uniform, the Tide will don the Nike Pro Combat Hypercool Speed Top base layer, constructed from moisture-wicking Nike Dri-FIT fabric. The innovative material, laser-cut perforations and streamlined design ensure maximal ventilation and a cool, dry fit.
Finally, Alabama will premiere the Nike Vapor Fly Glove, with its Hyperfuse, no-cuff construction and Magnigrip palm for superlative grip and durability. And, best of all, pre-curved fingers for a natural fit. Seriously. Why hasn’t that always been the norm?
Look for the new Alabama football uniform to debut Monday, during the BCS National Championship Game.
