Another new football/soccer uniform today as Nike unveils the new Manchester United home kit for the 2012-13 season. Embracing the city the Red Devils call home, certain aspects in the kit are inspired by Manchester itself.
The red shirt features an eye-catching yet subtle tonal gingham pattern, paying homage to the city’s famous cotton mills that popularized the print. Continuing the tribute to Manchester’s industrial history, as well as the team’s spirit of hard work, the inner-back neck reads “Forged in Industry, Striving for Glory.”
Beyond that, the looks are classically attractive, as you’d expect from the world’s most popular club. Contrast black covers the shirt’s v-neck, while the iconic devil graphic sits alongside it. The white shorts feature an understated diagonal hatched graphic to tie in with the shirt’s gingham print.
Finally, the socks finish the look off by adding plenty of black, with a hint of red at the top and a white devil logo.
