Named for the titular insect whose lifespan can vary anywhere from 30 minutes to one day, the Nike Mayfly is the innovative new running shoe that’s so lightweight, it’s designed to really hold up for about 100km. Considering Bill Bowerman’s obsession with lightweight shoes, this may just be what he had in mind when he helped found Nike. The shoe features ripstop nylon on the upper for breathability and to reduce weight, while the sole unit is Phylite, also to reduce weight as well as increase traction. Check out a couple more looks under the cut. These will run you $45 on nikestore.com, a good price considering the lifespan.
