Considering how much Jordan Brand loves hybrids, it seems obvious, in hindsight anyway, that at some point they would combine their most popular basketball shoe with the iconic Nike running shoe. And thus we get Jordan Comfort Max 11, a sort of-lowtop AJXI sitting atop an Air Max 1 sole unit. Initially launching in two colorways, the anthracite/black-volt features a dark upper with volt accents and sole units, but where there is typically patent leather instead we find black leather with elephant print etched throughout. The other pair is loosely inspired by the AJXI “Cool Grey,” featuring a largely white-based upper made of mesh with an overlaying grey leather mudguard and a white Air Max 1 sole unit. These are sure to be divisive, although I’m sure plenty of people will be opposed simply on principle, and the name “Comfort” probably doesn’t help, evoking images of an old man’s walking shoe. Heresy or no, I’ll go on record as saying it’s actually a pretty decent looking shoe. (Although I’m fully in favor of a name-change.) Several more looks after the cut. Photos via sneakernews.com.
