Friday’s Rose Bowl may be the biggest game in Oregon Ducks’ history, so it’s fitting that they’ll do something crazy with their uniforms. Unfortunately, despite my campaigning here on NikeBlog, it doesn’t look like the Ducks will be wearing invisible uniforms. No spinning O’s on the helmet either. I’m just as disappointed as you. Anyway, it’s looking like white helmets, green jerseys and white pants. This should be labeled as rumor per the usual, and I will say that the pants may still be up in the air, but I’m relatively sure about the first two. Obviously we still haven’t worn the chrome lids, but with Ohio State wearing silver helmets of their own this just isn’t the day to break them out. Next year at Tennessee, perhaps. I’m working on a Photoshop of the jersey combo, less the RB patch, so that ought to be up soon. I’ll include a couple of links to the Arizona prediction and the UW game. UPDATE x2: Jeff Maehl basically confirmed the uniforms I have posted here in a media day today. This is a bit strange since the Ducks never really publicly announce what they’ll wear in advance. Could this be a smokescreen to hide something ridiculous we might pull out Friday?

The best combo that they have is the black lids with the yellow jersey and black pants. Everything would counter what the buckeyes will be wearing.
@Robbie G: Chip’s one rule is that they don’t repeat combinations and unfortunately that was what we sported against Wazzu.

The white helmets are awful. I agree that our green helmet is one of the very best in college football and it’s crazy not to wear it. I also dislike the white pants but am a bit old school in that I would like us not to wear colors that aren’t even in our schools basic color set. Carbon? Really?
If they swap those green jersey’s out with the throwbacks you would have an awesome combination. Make it happen Chip.
@GoDucks58: I actually think white pants with a dark home jersey is pretty damn old school, just my two cents though.
@GoDucks58 again: Also, keep in mind that the pants are speculation at this point, so you may just get your wish of non-white pants. Could definitely see them going all green with a white helmet.

THE GREEN LIDS ARE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST LOOK, THEY POP ON THE TV SCREEN, EXPECIALLY AT NIGHT WITH THE STADIUM LIGHTS HITTING THEM.

I agree, please not the white lids. Those are great with the all white unis on the road, but when we are the home team and get to wear colors, how are we not sporting the green helmets!?!

I wish we would use our 95 throwbacks again. Those would be cool to bring back for the Rose Bowl.

I can’t believe the Ducks are going to screw up the Rose Bowl. The time to experiment is against the Wazzu’s of the world, not on center stage. The Rose Bowl will probably be the most watched game in UO history, and we will be seeing highlights of this game for eternity.
First the tidy whiteys in the Civil War and now this fiasco. Why on gods green earth would the Ducks not sport the green helmet, the best in college football for this game??? This is even more disappointing than the seats I received…

I think the combo they wore against Utah was the best. the black and yellow, but if that isn’t going to be the case, then I would agree with the rest of the blog. kill the white helmets. Put some color out there.

Love the green or black lids, but white lids will provide best contrast against the field. ANYTHING to get an advantage.
I agree, please please please please please NO white helmets or pants!!!!! The green helmets, black jersey and green pants look sharp. I’ll even take the black helmets, but not the ugly grey or white. It’s the Rose Bowl, at least represent our colors. NO GREY AT ALL!!! Thanks and GO DUCKS!!!!!
The only 2 losses came in white pants, go Green Helmets, Green Jersey, Black Pants!! Or go Green Helmets, YELLOW Jersey and Green Pants. But all in all, BEAT the big 10 and GO DUCKS
