Nike Lunar Wood TZ (Including Release Info)

I wrote a little about the Nike Lunar Wood TZ the other day, the new ACG shoe that combines the Wildwood with a Lunarlite sole and is designed by Danish designers and retailers Wood Wood, but I can expand a little on the shoe now. The focus of the Lunar Wood design was to maintain the outdoor/trail function of the original Wildwood while ensuring that the shoe’s look and feel were suitable for a day in the city, and even improve the design to enable the Lunar Wood to withstand a brutal Scandinavian winter. Features on the Lunar Wood TZ include the addition of Lunarlite foam, a rubberized mudguard and ripstop nylon to keep the foot secure and dry, and various Wood Wood cosmetic additions such as their signature “WW” on the left heel, an ACG logo alongside a crescent moon on the tongue tag and a series of moons running the cycle from eclipse to full on the insoles.

Finally the shoe incorporates P2i, Ltd’s Ionmask technology by adding a nanoscopic polymer layer to the exterior of the shoe, adding a layer protection that will mimic duck feathers in the way water will bead and roll off the shoe, rather than soaking into the exterior. Ionmask is among the best waterproofing agents available, ensuring the shoe will keep dry and light and maintain its structural integrity over time.

The Nike Lunar Wood TZ release date is set for December 11th exclusively at Wood Wood, whose locations include Berlin, Copenhagen and a third store opening in Vienna that very day. The shoe will then see a wider release, albeit Tier Zero, on December 19th. American Tier Zero accounts typically include, although I’m just hypothesizing, the following locations (city): Bodega (Boston), Concepts (Boston), Darkside (San Francisco), Dave’s Quality Meats (New York), Nike Sportswear @ 21 Mercer (NYC), Shoe Gallery (Miami), UBIQ (Philly) and UNDFTD (LA, Santa Monica, and Las Vegas). Regularly ALIFE, Huf and Goods will get the TZ stuff as well, so keep your eyes peeled.
