I know what you’re thinking; With the recent unveiling of Oregon’s new uniforms they simply don’t have enough combinations to look fly week in and week out. Well don’t worry, the boys in Eugene (and Beaverton I suppose) have it figured out. This weekend against Cal, signs strongly point to the Oregon Ducks donning throwback uniforms, including a brighter green jersey than the “thunder green” they typically wear, a mustard yellow pants-and-helmet combo, as well as the interlocking U and O logo of old. Possibly even Donald Duck mixed in somewhere. Keep in mind UO does have the option of using Donald on whatever apparel they want, they just can’t market the gear outside of Oregon. While initial reports were that the Ducks throwback uniforms would pay tribute to the Rose Bowl team of 1994, recent grainy photos indicate an Oregon retro uniform more similar to the 1998 Akili Smith-led Ducks.
