Carmelo Anthony’s newest signature shoe appears ready to drop October 1st; The Jordan Melo M6 is Anthony’s sixth signature shoe (who would have guessed) and actually a significant departure from Melo’s forgettable M5. The M6, whose silhouette bears a passing resemblance to the Jordan All Day, is a very simplified basketball shoe compared to past Melo entries, and features a Zoom Air unit. The shoe will see an initial run of six different colorways: white/black, white/black-red, black/black, white/red, white/university blue and white/navy.

Thoughts? Not the best shoe I’ve ever seen, but certainly Melo’s best as the dude tends to have pretty horrendous signature kicks (ironic as he sports some of the best PE’s). All in all just simple, subtle hoop shoe, probably more targeted for people looking to ball in it than just sport it as lifestyle gear. Meaning I guess the real test comes when the shoe hits and we can feel the technology for ourselves.

The Jordan Melo M6 release date is tentatively scheduled for October 1st, 2009. Of course a lot could change between then and now so I’ll keep you updated. Pictures via Sneakernews.com.
