Another Niketown t-shirt dropped this last week, but I lazily didn’t post it until now. This “Together We Win” Nike shirt is a LGBQT shirt I think … I’m not sure if I got those initials right. It’s essentially a gay pride shirt. On the front is a Nike shoe made up by putting together the words “respect,” “friend,” “unity,” “truth,” “love,” “family,” “queer,” “pride,” “gay,” “lesbian,” “bisexual,” “transgender,” “strength,” and “equality.” The back of the shirt says “together win win” in brackets, and the sleeve says “Portland Pride ’09.” I’m not sure if there’s an awareness week coming up or something, but according to a Nike ad “Nike is proud to be the recipient of a 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index for 7 consecutive years, including 2009” so maybe that’s it. Well whatever the reason, the shirt is a really dope design, one of the best from Nike I’ve seen recently and 50% of proceeds go to the Human Rights Campaign. On top of that it supports a good cause. I’m sure plenty of people will clown this shirt because of the subject, but grow up; it’s 2009. The Nike Together We Win Shirt/Nike Gay and Lesbian Shirt/Nike Portland Pride Shirt/Whatever you want to call it is now available at Niketown Portland.
