I’ve got to say, with a few exceptions (most notably the Nike RT1) I’ve not been a big fan of most new silhouettes. Well that ends now: Late last week, Nike debuted the new Nike Trainer 1 and it’s really dope. A very simple, low-cut design, the Nike Trainer 1 lends itself to a lot of different colorways and will undoubtedly be a hit as a casual shoe.
Of course Nike didn’t design the Trainer 1 specifically to sport with jeans and a white tee; the shoe is on the cutting edge of the training niche, employing several innovative design concepts to ensure the most effective shoe possible. The outsole is made from DiamondFLX, a patent-pending technlogy that allows for support as well as multi-directional flexibility; the midsole sports a Nike Max Air unit and finally the shoe uses an inner Dynamic Fit sleeve to ensure the best fit possible as well as added stability.
After seeing the high price tag of the new Air Max 2009, it’s a bit surprising to see such a reasonable price tag on the $90 Nike Air Trainer 1. The Nike Air Trainer 1 release date is July 1st.
