Being that we just passed the anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s historic breaking of baseball’s color barrier on April 15th, I suppose it makes a lot of sense that a few Jackie-inspired shoes are dropping. More sense if they dropped on April 15, but whatever. Anyway, while we just saw the Jackie Robinson Nike Blazer a week ago, and now we have a more contemporary-looking shoe, the Nike Air Griffey Max Swingman Remix Jackie Robinson. Whether you’re feeling the shoe or not, you have to admit one thing: it’s the most irritatingly long name we’ve seen in a while. The shoe I guess is a mashup involving the Air Griffey Max 1, although I don’t really see it. I do really dig the tribute aspects of the shoe, including the Dodgers colors, the “42″ on the back and the anniversary date on the insole. Not sure when these shoes will drop, but I’ll keep you informed when we hear anything. Pictures from TheShoeGame.com
