Jackie Robinson Nike Blazer Pack
We know Nike loves their themes, even when the theme isn’t exactly Nike-related. Case in point, the new Jackie Robinson Nike Blazer pack. I don’t know much about Jackie’s involvement with Nike, being that he was playing before Blue Ribbon Sports was even a light bulb in Phil Knight’s mind, but Robinson serves as the inspiration on this three-pair pack. The shoe comes in black, blue or red and contains small Brooklyn Dodgers “B” marks all over the upper. The Jackie Robinson Blazer also has very “imperfect” white; both the Swoosh and the midsole look to be made up of smudged paint.
This shoe leaked four or five months ago but it is finally available at select retailers. Proper definitely being one. I’m not feeling the look so much, but there’s something to be said about a shoe that honors the most important player in MLB history.
