As you’ve probably read, NikeBlog is in New York City this week to see the sights and check out SneakerCon. Today, between falafel acquisitions I was able to make some time to get out to the Nike Sportswear Flagship store at 21 Mercer. While I did expect a little more—a second floor would have been nice, but maybe I’m just used to the PDX Niketown—the place is fantastic. Great space, oustanding interior design, and of course a ton of shoes that you’re not getting elsewhere. While they have a very strict rule against photos of the products, I tried to get a couple of the general set up.
I also stopped by Premium Laces in the area, just off Broadway. They had some decent kicks, although—among other things—they claim to be a Tier Zero account which I do not believe is true. My main qualm was that half the stuff looked like it had been worn before. Their webshop looks better than the store, actually. I then stopped by Rainbow Falafel near Union Square. It was spectacular.
