A day after Ricky Hatton’s team told Golden Boy Promotions to find another fight, PhilBoxing.com is reporting that the fight is back, Manny Pacquiao having agreed to a $12 million guarantee and a 52-48 revenue split in his favor. The fight was in dire straights Wednesday, when Team Hatton gave Pacquiao the ultimatum to sign the contract by midnight or find himself another fight. Pacquiao did not sign and Hatton began to move on. However news out of Manila in the last hour indicates that the fight is signed.
The strangest thing in all of this? PhilBoxing.com has said that Pacquiao was drinking beer while hanging out with a close friend, who does not drink. Pacquiao then insisted that his friend-advisor drink three beers or he would not accept the fight. You can’t make this stuff up folks (although in this case it kind of sounds like they did).
