As promised, Kobe Bryant unveiled a new NikeID Zoom Kobe 4 shoe on Christmas day (although I highly doubt he has to go to NikeID.com and go through the motions like the rest of us.) This one is dubbed “The Power Tie,” and Kobe and Trevor Ariza wore it in their victory over the Celtics. Some others may have worn it as well, but those were the two I noticed. Lamar Odom wore a God awful bright orange Hyperdunk PE, not really sure why. He may think that he plays for the Suns.
Anyway, Kobe’s new color was pretty cool, but the shoe still just leaves me underwhelmed. It’s not a bad looking shoe by any means, but it’s not really anything special either. It looks like the sixty dollar alternative to the expensive basketball shoes your parents won’t let you get … except that the Kobes cost $140
