According to Kenlu member ABT, we may have the first look at the Air Jordan 2009. Quick side note for those who don’t know: after tons of rumors that the Air Jordan 23 may be the last Air Jordan and that Jordan Brand would stick to Team Jordans, Jumpmans, etc in the future, the predominant rumor now is that there will still be an annual Air Jordan, but that it will be named by the year rather than the number in the series. Air Jordan 2009, Air Jordan 2K9, something like that. Or they may be messing with us and this time next year everyone will be wearing an Air Jordan 24.
Anyway, back to topic: ABT is a noted collector and someone who seems to be in the know, and his sketch is quite similar to the below picture from SneakerNews.com. Either that means this speculation is true and we’re looking at the next Air Jordan, or—and more likely—ABT saw the same sample of which Sneaker News got a photo. Above is the sketch of the Air Jordan 24/Air Jordan 2009 (because I saw it first), and below is the possible photo of the sample shoe, which is presumably going to be released in February of 2009. Big bonus points to anyone who can tell me what shoe this reminds me of. I’m kind of thinking it was one of those hellacious slip-on And1 basketball shoes, but I’m not sure. The “V” shape is sort of Pony Shoe Logo-ish, but that’s not it. Ten NikeBlog points for whomever sends me a link.
