Nike recently rolled out a couple of highs with wood-grain features (well, technically the other pair are Nike Blazer Mids), most notably the Air Force II High Premium. The cool thing is that the color scheme and general design is apparently inspired by the Atari CX2600 gaming system. What’s cool about that? Only that Atari is one of the sweetest gaming systems of all time. Case in point, look at the shoes they inspired. The AF2 Premium has a wood grain midsole along with a grooved, leather upper and reads “game select” across the ankle. I’m not generally a fan of the Air Force 2, but I might cop these solely because it’s the closest I’ll ever come to being able to wear an Atari. Available now over at FinishLine.com
